Thank you ma’am – Word Associations Activity

Task Description:

For this task, I had to match words from this Word Bank and put reasons as to why I think that word had belong to the other word. I did the easier ones first because I thought if I started with the easier ones that the harder ones won’t be hard to find. For example, Barren and Frail both sounded that they belong to both Dessert and Elderly.

Algebra Operations

Task Description:

For today’s Maths task, we had to do this new task which was all about what operations we use for the equations given to us. For the first slide I think I had overthought it but I managed to kind of work my way through this by adding the cubed colored bags together and then I got my answer in this way, for the second slide it was the same but there two different questions and they were “Do any of the collections have the same total?” And my answer for that was yes, because if you go back to the first slide you will see that most of the collections held most of the same answers. And the second question asked “Why does this happen?” I didn’t really know what to say but I just said that I think the difference was in the numbers depending on how high or small it was to get to the same answer from different equations but still adding with different numbers. And for both the fourth and fifth slide it was to understand the orders of the operation, what I found hard about these two was that it did take a while to try and solve but I know that I have to start with the multiplication in these equations so I think from there it sort of helped me out. Overall I did do my best and I think that I could improve in this a lot if I do more.

Algebra 1

Task Description:

I can conclude that this Maths task was indeed very hard. For this task I had word problems to solve and though some of them sounded very puzzling some were actually very hard to do, I managed to successfully complete this task, I found every bit of this activity hard, I think I could do better but I don’t wish for more.

Albania Physical Poster

Task Description:

For today’s literacy, we had the whole block to finish our posters about our countries. I really didn’t expect to finish today because I was doing this on my own and I didn’t even start the poster, but I had a little faith that I was going to finish it today. This poster had to be about our countries and all the things we planned out for this. We could choose if we wanted to do a physical poster or a digital and for me it was kind of too late to do digital so I ended up doing a physical poster and I think I did pretty good for one person physical poster.

Coordinate Battleship

Task Description:

For this Math’s task, I didn’t understand it at first. But then a few students in my class taught me how the game was suppose to work, it took me a while to really get the hang of it and do it with a partner but during each round and game it started becoming really fun to play it was pretty obvious I lost but what was important was that I had fun. I didn’t want to take a lose as an option so I asked to do a couple more rounds of the game again and because we had it for F.I.O.P my highlight for this was getting to learn a new math type game to do with friends and family my low light was not understanding and trying to really think where each ship is located though that is the point of the game. What I think I could work on is thinking of other ways to find the ships.

It’s time to reflect

Task Description:

For today’s literacy task, my class had to reflect on our speeches, in this task it asks us a few questions on how we think we did before our speech, before our speech and after our speech. I gave my honest opinion on what I think I felt during all of those. I honestly was really glad that I could get my speech delivered and done with, however there is still a few things I think I could do better on. I did my best I tried my best and I did what I could do.

DLO – Science – Invisible Ink

Task Description: This term, we had to research some science experiments that we could use to put into our DLO’s (Digital Learning Online) I decided to do Invisible ink, because I thought it was a pretty simple and easy one to do. In the video it explains how invisible ink works and what ingredients you need to make it.

Fluency and Expression Reflection – Reading “Seventh Grade” By Gary Soto

Task Description: For this task we had to rate on how we think our audio on the book went. I listened through my recording and I think it went ok, I tried my best and this is how good I think I did. Our WALT for this task was to monitor ourselves to fully complete work and read with expression and fluency. My recording is just under this task and the task before this.

Seventh Grade – Gary Soto

First some questions

Answer the following questions about Seventh Grade.

Question Answer
What background information do you learn about Victor? He was a friend of Michael Torres, he liked a girl named Teresa. He tried to impress her by making her think that he knows french. He’s Mexican and he’s in 7th grade.
When the boys scowl, the girls look at them. What might the girls be thinking? I think they would think it’s weird or strange, and that’s why they’re staring at Victor and Michael.

(What I think they would say in their head)

“Why does he look like that?”

What obstacles are getting in the way of Victor making Teresa “his girl”? Victor was trying hard to impress Teresa, and maybe I think he doesn’t know what to say when he sees her, because his mind goes blank.
How does the tension increase now that Victor and Teresa are in the same class together? Victor likes Teresa so I think he would be nervous since he was sitting a few desks away from his crush.
Why did the teacher turn his back and walk to the blackboard? Victor raised his hand, when the teacher said he could speak French, when he really couldn’t, which made the teacher realise that he was trying to impress a girl.
The French teacher, Mr. Bueller, realises that Victor is faking his knowledge of French, yet he does not let on about it. What impression does Mr. Bueller’s action tell you about him as a person and as a teacher? I think I see him as an understandable character, where he knows that was him once. I think it also tells me he’s a caring teacher since he didn’t want to embarrass Victor in front of the class by saying “that’s not french,” or other things to make things worse for Victor.

CREATE:

Create an audiobook version of the story.

Task Description: This was a simple task given to my literacy class by Mr Wiseman, we had to answer the 6 questions about the story we were reading, it was called “Seventh Grade” by Gary Soto. After we finished answering the following questions we had to create and audio book version of the story, we had to use an online voice recorder or any other type of recording tool and record ourselves reading “Seventh Grade” I found this a bit challenging because I hadn’t done something like this in ages. I managed to complete this in the end and post it on this blog of mine, I hope you find my answers to the story satisfactory and the audio version of the book great. Thank you! Hope you enjoy!

BMF 4 – 4 Infinity

Task Description:

Today I decided to do another groups maths task since I felt like it! So this is like the other one except it had different questions! Overall this was very easy to do, and I am looking forward to do this again sometime soon! This is BMF 4 (Building Maths Fitness) Getting our brains warmed up for the maths activities we have ahead. I hope you enjoy!
